I have 69 days left until race day! I ran 12 miles this morning. I got up at 5am, ate whole wheat cheerios and let my food settle until 6:30. I felt good until mile 11 (it was hot) and had to push a little in the last mile. The banana protein supplement I bought to mix with my carb drink makes me sick if I drink it before or during my run so I had a huckleberry flavored gel today, it was good and my body handled it well. So I guess I will buy more. I'm doing my long runs at the beginning of the week so I can have them over with. Yeah, I don't have to do a long run for the rest of the week! Thats a good feeling. The only issue I had during my run was my toes. They were burning until they went numb. When I got home I had to put bandaids on two of my toes on each foot. One toe pushes on the other cutting off the circulation or something. I'll have to figure out a solution to this problem so I don't lose a toe. Ha ha! I planned a schedule each day until the race. I also found inspirational quotes that I can remember while I'm running to motivate me. I feel alot better now that I have an exact plan in place. I have another opportunity to run the marathon route again on Aug. 7th. I'm saving my long run for that day. It's going to be hot so I'll probably be out the door by 4am. Anyway, I'll be back tomorrow. |
